From a Small Shop to Four Successful Branches
How I Built a Business That Grows with Systems, Freedom, and Purpose
I Was Busy Running a Business… But Not Building One.
For many years, our family had an Electrical and Plumbing Trading business. The business was running, but I was not actively involved. Before joining the business full-time, I was focused on stock market trading while my brother managed most of the day-to-day operations.
Even though the business existed, I never imagined that it could grow into multiple branches. I believed growth would always be slow, difficult, and limited by the amount of time we could personally spend inside the business.
Looking back today, I realise that I wasn't lacking opportunities. I was lacking clarity.
One Simple Facebook Advertisement Changed My Direction
One day, while casually scrolling through Facebook, I came across a short advertisement by Karthik.
He spoke about something I had never thought about before.
He explained that every successful business is built on different pillars — HR, Finance, Marketing, Sales, and Operations.
Those few minutes completely changed the way I looked at business.
Later, I joined the Fortune Makers Community. At that time, I never imagined how much that single decision would change my life.
The Search That Changed My Direction
I was constantly searching online to learn more about business.
One day, while scrolling through Facebook, I came across a Fortune Makers advertisement.
Honestly, I was hesitant.
But I thought,
"It's only ₹500. Let me attend and see what it's all about."
That simple decision changed everything.
During the training, I realised business wasn't just about buying and selling.
For the first time, I heard words like:
Marketing.
Operations.
Finance.
Human Resources.
Until then, I had never looked at my business this way.
I realised I had been running my business based only on experience—not on systems.
I Finally Learned How to Think Like a Business Owner
The biggest gift I received wasn't motivation.
It was clarity.
I learned that every business needs a clear structure.
Every decision should have a purpose.
Every problem should have a plan.
And if Plan A doesn't work, there should always be a Plan B.
That way of thinking completely changed how I approached my business.
Instead of simply working harder every day, I started building a business that could grow consistently.
Growth Became Visible
Once I began implementing what I learned, the results followed.
Our annual turnover grew from ₹2 Crores to ₹4 Crores.
For me, the number wasn't the biggest achievement.
The real achievement was understanding why the business was growing.
I wasn't guessing anymore.
I was following systems.
I was making decisions with clarity.
I finally knew what to focus on next.
Opening My Second Branch No Longer Felt Scary
Earlier, even the thought of opening another branch made me nervous.
I kept asking myself...
"What if it fails?"
"How will I manage two stores?"
After learning how to build systems, that fear slowly disappeared.
Today, I have successfully opened my second branch.
More importantly, I now know how to expand further.
Instead of wondering whether I can open another branch, I now ask myself,
"When should I open the next one?"
That confidence has completely changed my future.
I Stopped Selling Fruits. I Started Building Experiences.
One lesson completely changed the way I think.
Instead of trying to sell everything, I decided to go deeper into my strongest area.
Fruits.
We introduced fresh-cut fruit, and today we sell hundreds of cups every single day.
But my vision didn't stop there.
During one of the Fortune Makers physical events, a completely new idea came to me.
I asked myself,
"People happily visit unlimited buffet restaurants for food... why can't fruits become a complete dining experience?"
That single question gave birth to a new dream.
Akki Fruit Restaurant.
Today, we are experimenting with ideas like fruit-based meals, fruit tea, fruit idli, fruit pizza, and many more healthy concepts.
My goal isn't simply to sell fruits.
My goal is to completely change the way people experience healthy food.
The Biggest Change Happened at Home
One of the most meaningful transformations wasn't in my business.
It happened in my family.
Earlier, my wife and I spent almost every hour managing the shop ourselves.
If one of us wasn't there, the business would stop.
We believed that only we could run it properly.
Today, that belief has changed.
Our team confidently manages the store.
We spend less time worrying and more time planning.
Business no longer controls our entire life.
It has given us something we had been missing for years.
Peace.
My Vision Is Much Bigger Today
Today, I don't think about running one successful fruit store.
I think about building a brand.
Every year, I want to double my growth.
I want to open more branches.
I want to create a business model that can be replicated across many cities.
Most importantly, I want people to see fruits not just as products—but as an exciting and enjoyable lifestyle.
